Terms of service

These terms are the deal between you and FilmMySong ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. We wrote them to be readable; the short version of every section is that we treat your music like it's yours, because it is.

What the service does

You upload a song, we read its lyrics and meaning, and we generate scenes and videos from it that you review and approve. Generation runs on third-party AI infrastructure working on our behalf (see the privacy policy for who). Generated results vary; we don't promise a specific artistic outcome, which is exactly why you see and can change every scene before filming.

AI-generated content, disclosed

Everything the service creates (scenes, clips, finished videos) is synthetic: made by AI from your song and your directions. We say that here, and the product makes no secret of it. Three honest consequences follow. First, results vary: the same request can come out differently twice, and the underlying models change over time. Second, generative models learn patterns instead of copying files, so another artist's video could resemble yours by coincidence; nobody gets exclusivity over a look. Third, when you publish a video, some platforms and some jurisdictions require synthetic media to be labeled as such, and presenting generated footage as a real recording of real people or events may be restricted. Publishing is your call and your responsibility. A music video is an evidently creative work, which is exactly what keeps it comfortably inside those rules; keep it that way.

Your account

You sign in with an email address and you're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, and at least 16 years old.

Your content stays yours

• Your music, lyrics, photos and covers remain yours. You grant us only the license needed to store and process them to run the service for you.
• The finished videos are yours too. Post them anywhere, monetize them, put them on a billboard. We claim no ownership and assign you whatever rights we could hold in the results. One honest note: whether purely AI-generated material can be copyrighted at all still varies by country. We hand you everything we have; we can't promise every copyright office will see an ownable work.
• We never use your uploads to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.

What you promise about your uploads

You upload only what you have the rights to: your own songs, or songs and photos you're authorized to use. No uploading other artists' work, no impersonation, and nothing unlawful. Photos of people need those people's permission, and for character photos that permission must cover the specific thing we do with them: processing by our AI providers so the person appears in generated scenes. Don't upload photos of minors as characters. If a rights holder or a person depicted shows us a valid claim, we can remove content and, for repeat cases, close accounts.

The same goes for a finished music video you bring to cut clips from: you must hold the rights to the footage and the recording in it — your own video, or one you're authorized to re-cut and publish. Everyone recognizable in it needs to be someone you may show. We process a brought video on our own machines and store it with our storage provider — no AI provider ever sees it — but the clips you cut are yours to publish, so the rights have to be yours first.

If a rights holder or anyone else brings a claim against us because your uploads broke the promises in this section, you'll compensate us for the damages and reasonable costs, legal fees included, that the claim causes us, to the extent the breach is actually yours. If you're a consumer, this applies only as far as the mandatory law of your country allows.

Credits and payment

Generation is paid with credits. Plan credits arrive with your subscription on each billing cycle; top-up credits don't expire. Prices and what each action costs are always shown before you press the button. If a render fails on our side, credits come back automatically for every scene we can show was never filmed; work we may already have paid the film crew for keeps its cost. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, never to us. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancelling stops future charges and keeps your plan until the end of the paid period. Except where the law requires otherwise, credits have no cash value and aren't refundable once spent on completed generations.

Free features — starting credits, free previews, and free daily capacity — are a courtesy, not a purchase. We size them generously for real musicians, and we may limit, change, or withhold them (for example for suspected automated signups, or when a day's free capacity is used up) to keep the service healthy. This never affects anything you've paid for.

If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. When you buy credits or a plan, you agree that we begin delivering the digital service immediately; you keep the withdrawal right, but it no longer covers credits already spent on completed generations, and withdrawing from a subscription refunds the unused part of the period. Purchases may be processed by a merchant of record acting as the seller; if so, that's shown at checkout.

Fair use of the service

Don't abuse the platform: no attempts to break, overload, or reverse engineer it, no reselling access, no generating content that's illegal, hateful, or sexualizes minors. We can suspend accounts that do. Premiere links make a video publicly viewable by anyone holding the link; if a shared link ever shows content that's illegal or infringes someone's rights, email us — we review such reports and remove content where the report holds up, and we'll tell the reporter and the account holder what we decided.

Liability

The service is provided as it stands, without warranties beyond what the law guarantees. We work to keep it available but don't promise uninterrupted uptime, and delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (provider outages included) aren't a breach of these terms. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything else the law says can't be limited.

Ending things

You can delete your projects any time from inside the app; deletion is permanent and includes the files. To close your whole account, email [email protected] from your sign-in address and we'll delete it, files included. We can end the agreement with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches of these terms.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version; if you don't accept it, you can end the agreement and delete your account before it applies.

Governing law and your consumer rights

These terms are governed by Bulgarian law, and the courts of Bulgaria have jurisdiction. Two things stand above that sentence: if you're a consumer, you always keep the protections that the mandatory laws of the country you live in give you, and you may bring or defend a dispute in your home courts where those laws say so. If something goes wrong, email us first; most problems are fixable faster than any of the formal routes.

The legal housekeeping

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays fully in force, and the invalid part is read as the closest valid version of what it plainly tried to do. Us not enforcing a term today doesn't waive it for tomorrow. You can't transfer this agreement to someone else without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a business change, with your rights riding along undiminished. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between us, and the sections that by their nature should outlive the agreement (your ownership of your content, the liability limits, this section) survive its end.
